HOW IS LIBERICA COFFEE PROCESSED
Liberica specialty coffee is distinguished for its strong emphasis on quality. Every stage of the process is meticulously executed to avoid any factors that could compromise the final coffee flavor. This careful selection guarantees that only the finest coffee beans proceed to the next processing steps:
Sorting
Farmers handpick only the ripened cherries from the coffee plant and sort for undamaged cherries for further processing.
Sundrying
The coffee cherries are laid out in “large beds” for naturally sun-drying, allowing the seeds to mature within the fruit, enhancing the final bean's flavor profile.
Fermentation
The cherries undergo fermentation over 3-6 weeks, developing their distinct flavor characteristics before further refinement.
Depulping
The coffee beans will enter the appropriate stage of resting mode for stability before the cherries are de-pulped to separate the seeds, setting the stage for roasting.
